Really stupid system. It's not worth the time it takes to get a campground. Lots of other pretty places out there.
We came at 6 and we were 3rd in line. There was no problem with getting a place even for people far behind us.
Great place. Beautiful views. You are almost inside Zion NP walking distance to shuttle bus.
Camp sites are just ok but great canyon cliffs and trails right next to campground. The bathrooms at our end of campground were closed so it was a long walk at night. Nearby shuttles, short walk away. Also a fairly short walk to shower and do laundry at the Springdale village where the restaurant, souvenir shops, visitor center, wader/watershoe rental (for hiking the Narrows trail)
Beautiful park. At the camping ground you can even find some deers just walking around. The views are just beautiful, and the fact that they have shuttle buses made more easier to explore the park. One thing that if the weather is good you have to do, is walking the Narrows, where you can walk on the clear Virgin River with 2 enormous stone walls at each side.
The older male campground hosts are incredibly rude. It's insulting when they use heavy sarcasm and use subtle threats. Also the wait is incredibly long (couple of hours). Try and ask for a walk in at Watchman instead of South if possible.
